Thanks so much Egor, both for your answer and your balanced and well written (and inspiring!) text.
You are absolutely right about the individual needs aspect. I am making movies using SLDR´s but miss the spontaneity of picking up my old M8. The M8 is a great camera, but (for me) too expensive a luxury to keep, and also a lot of electronic woes etc. Therefore, reading your article I began to wonder if investing in the (relatively speaking) small amount of money for an M6 and have that good old feeling back is becoming very appealing.

However here is the issue: I started seriously taking pictures in the digital world, I do not print myself, and this is putting me off.... So, and here´s my run up question, if I were to use an M6 with slide film and then scan, would it still be a worthwhile investment?

Its not the work flow so much as the "contact" with the camera I am looking for, a casual friend in the pocket, however one I would want to get the best out of without getting "chemically" involved (with all due respect to your article and the relationships and potential in the analogue craft).

Hi Mike: I tend to tiptoe around answering hypothetical questions, since there are always a lot of unmentioned hypothetical factors that would influence my hypothetical decision. Besides, what nourishes me might be poison for you. In my own personal case, if the M6 was the only way I could shoot with a rangefinder, then there's no doubt that I'd still buy it. But that's because my shooting style practically demands that I use a rangefinder. As it stands now, the M6 is my second most-used camera (behind the M9). I shoot much more with the M6 than I do with the Canon 5DmkII. But, like I said, that's me -- I'm just a rangefinder kind of guy. Your photo world might be different.
